Returns from June 18th to 28th, 2025, ScoglieraViva, the International Outdoor Sculpture Symposium

ScoglieraViva – the International Outdoor Sculpture Symposium – returns from June 18th to 28th, 2025, to transform the city of Caorle’s cliff into an open-air museum.

From its beginning in 1993, ScoglieraViva grows and develops, becoming an event awaited by artists, tourists, art lovers and passionate. This seafront gallery, unique in its kind, represents one of the more suggestive places of the ancient Venetian maritime village, and it’s an attraction for the thousands of tourists coming from all Europe while also being an important heritage for the citizens of Caorle.
ScoglieraViva is a registered trademark, conceived and designed by Caorle Municipality, that this year presents also the official catalogue that encloses all the works created so far. A prestigious volume that confirms the cultural importance of this event and the artistic and cultural value of the created sculptures.

The public presentation and Inauguration Ceremony will be Saturday June 28th, 2025, at 9pm in Piazza Vescovado. The artists will be present along with the institutions to speak about the creation steps through words and images. The evening will end with Candlelight Concert: a live exhibition under the stars, illuminated by candles, that will embrace the elegance of Piazza Vescovado, creating an unforgettable atmosphere. The event is free.

The event is organised by the City of Caorle in collaboration with Arte Laguna and the MoCA Cultural Association, Fondazione Caorle Città dello Sport, and the Caorle and Eastern Venice Tourist Promotion Consortium.

Now in its 22nd edition, ScoglieraViva confirms itself as a biennial symposium that continues to enrich the promenade, now counting 138 artworks. Figurative at the beginning, now the works have been subject to an evolution during the years, facing new, more contemporary themes. Other than the stylistic evolution, even social and historical matters have become protagonists, leaving a memorable footprint forever engraved in Caorle’s cliff. From 2018, the symposium gets a new and international purpose with artists coming from all over the world to work on the rocks, called by Cultural Association MoCA and Arte Laguna, that follows the project together with Caorle Municipality. The Symposium has broadened its horizons, opening up to international artists: from Germany to India, the Caorle’s promenade now hosts unique artworks, testifying the fact that art is a universal language.
The 2025 edition fo ScoglieraViva welcomes as protagonists three new artists – maintaining a position for a female sculptress – Katharina Mörth, an Austrian artist that works on the bond between man and nature. Katharina Mörth has established herself as one of the most significant voices of the international sculpting scene. Her work, profoundly established in a reflection on human and nature’s relationship, transcends geographic limits, finding resonance and appreciation in symposiums and worldwide collections. The artists – using a distinctive and powerful sculptural language – invites the public to have a confrontation on fundamental questions of our existence and our impact on the planet.
Together with her, Caorle presents the Slovenian sculptor Arijel Štrukelj. His technique in working the rock blends with profound conceptual research, giving life to works that explore the human condition, spirituality, and the intrinsic bond between individual and universal.
The third work is created by Renato Brunello, an internationally known artist, who represents a living bridge between his beloved homeland and the world. Born in Veneto, close to the city of Caorle, Brunello has lived most of his artistic life in Brasil, where he achieved recognition and prestige of the highest level. Despite the geographical distance and success overseas, the call of his roots has always been strong, and today it is realised with his long-awaited return to his homeland, Caorle, to leave his indelible mark on the cliff.

Tourists and residents can observe the three artists at work from June 18th to 28th, 2025. The structure of the Symposium artistic event also gives public the opportunity to have a direct dialogue with the artists, who can explain and talk more about their sensations, emotions, and works-in-progress.
